Summary
The Compliance Analyst provides support to the Compliance Officer in managing the Bank’s Compliance Management System (CMS) to ensure personnel are complying with appropriate banking consumer laws and regulations, as well as Board approved policy and procedures. Assist in providing appropriate training, support and guidance as needed. Assist the Compliance Officer in analyzing finalized regulatory changes and working with the business lines to implement those changes. Must possess knowledge of applicable state and federal consumer compliance regulations.
Essential Duties
- Provide compliance guidance and regulatory updates to appropriate officers and functional area. Monitor implementation of new and revised state and federal laws and regulations
- Assist the Compliance Officer in performing compliance reviews based on the departments risk assessment and report the results directly to department management and the Audit Committee
- Assists with special projects as assigned by the Compliance Officer
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements
- Assist the Compliance Officer as the Bank’s liaison on regulatory compliance matters during federal, state, and other outside compliance and CRA examinations
- Required to attend or participate in necessary compliance training, including but not limited to BSA, Security, Information Technology, OFAC, Privacy and applicable BVS courses
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including but not limited to Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) - Regulation B, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) – Regulation V, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) – Regulation X, Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA) – Regulation Z, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) – Regulation C, Fair Lending Act, Electronic Funds Transfer Act – Regulation E, Funds Availability Act – Regulation CC, Truth in Savings Act- Regulation DD, Privacy of Consumer Financial Information– Regulation P, and Reserve Requirements of Depository Institutions – Regulation D
- Demonstrated ability to research regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and organization skills
- Ability and desire to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management personnel
- BS with Business, Finance, Risk Management or Audit background preferred or equivalent financial industry experience
