Summary
The Senior Credit Analyst will review creditworthiness of individual or businesses for more complex and sophisticated transactions to determine the risk involved in lending money or extending credit. Will work with the Lending Team in monitoring the progression of prospective loans, renewals, modifications, and reviews through the credit underwriting workflow and independently assessing the creditworthiness of new and existing borrowers. In addition, the Sr Credit Analyst may assist training newer staff.
Essential Duties
- Provide exemplary customer service to both internal and external customers
- Utilize Abrigo LOS system for all aspects of the loan approval process. This includes financial statement analysis, credit reporting, industry analysis, and final loan presentation
- Interface with Commercial Lending staff, bank management, commercial loan customers and accountants in a collaborative and congenial way to address all identified questions/concerns in order to complete analysis
- Exhibit a strong working knowledge of Adirondack Bank’s loan policy in order to identify policy exceptions and mitigants
- Assist in the training and mentoring of the Credit Analysts within the department, including, but not limited to, providing guidance in completing daily tasks, providing feedback on assignments
- Perform market, industry, and economic analyses to identify trends and variances
- Identify and explain financial risks, trends and repayment ability of customer
- Utilize financial information provided by the customer on their personal and non-related business interests to analyze cash flow adequacy on a global customer basis
- Attend continuing education courses and professional development seminars, in addition to required bank training
- Required to attend or participate in necessary compliance training, including but not limited to BSA, Security, Information Technology, OFAC, Privacy and applicable BVS courses
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- College BS or BA in Business, Financial and/or Accounting
- Must have minimum five years of Credit Analysis experience
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Abrigo LOS knowledge would be preferred
